With Spotify Lite, you can play millions of songs, for free. The Spotify Lite app is small, so you'll save space on your phone, and be able to use it in slow network conditions.
Spotify Lite is a shortened version of the Spotify standard. Spotify Lite is only 15MB in size, while the standard Spotify on Android is up to 85MB. This version will be a reasonable option for users with limited storage capacity. It will be suitable for many older versions of the operating system, using less space, not only that this version will help us save battery more than the standard version. Spotify Lite still works like the main Spotify app.
THE INTERFACE HAS CHANGED A LOT
True to the compact and light lite version, the interface of Spotify Lite has also been released by the publisher, redesigned the interface to look a lot more compact, still looks quite similar to the main interface. If we pay a little attention, then we will notice the difference in this lite version, which is the navigation bar in the bottom corner of the screen. Spotify Lite only displays home, search, and favorite buttons, while the regular version layouts buttons such as our homepage, browse, search, radio, and library.
THE INSTALLATION MENU HAS ALSO CHANGED SIGNIFICANTLY
Speaking of the settings menu of Spotify Lite is also very minimalist; the publisher has removed the settings such as the volume level and quality in this version. In Spotify Lite, we are only allowed to check the amount of mobile data network space that the app has used and how much capacity the app has occupied.
We can also tweak ourselves, setting limits on Spotify Lite’s monthly data size usage, including limited-size options such as 500MB, 2GB, and 3GB.
Why has Spotify Lite?
Spotify is one of the world’s leading music applications today. You can listen to all genres of music, from ancient to modern and contemporary from all over the world. Music played from Spotify always meets quality standards to bring the best experience to users.
However, Spotify’s mobile application has a disadvantage that it consumes too much phone space. To reach more users and overcome the disadvantages of the original application, Spotify developer has launched a lighter version of Spotify called Spotify Lite. This Lite version is not only neater and more streamlined, but also easy to use, flexible and works well in many network connection conditions. Now let’s learn more about the specific advantages of Spotify Lite,
Compact application, easy to use, and takes up little space
Spotify Lite is just over 15MB (compared to the original Spotify app, which is up to 100MB). And because it is a shortened version, many features have been omitted in Spotify Lite, but still ensure music connection and quality experience for users.
First, Spotify Lite is still capable of providing a rich Free Music Store. Just like the original version, all the music is copyrighted, high quality and always updated with new, hot, trending songs to help users access a faster, with the best songs that I love.
Smart music search/suggest tool
Next is the Smart Search capability. When you need to find a favorite song, you just need to enter keywords related to that song, such as song title, musician, singer, album in the search box and you will quickly find the song you want. In Spotify Lite, you can find almost any genre of music you love, ranging from US-UK, and K-Pop music to classical, relaxing instrumental music…
Searched and listened to music on Spotify Lite will also be remembered so that the application gradually understands your music taste and preferences, thereby making better and better Playlist recommendations on the next times you use it.
These suggested Playlists are also actively categorized into many smaller criteria, such as genres, artists, new trends, updates or different moods, ensuring you can immediately find the right song.
Spotify Lite also allows for creating a personal Playlist. This personal playlist can be downloaded and shared with others. You can also monitor the capacity of this Playlist to see if you’ve run out of data.
FEWER FEATURES
In the standard version of Spotify, we are allowed full access to detailed features, including offline mode, connectivity, social networking features, filters, volume levels, and music quality,… But to hit the tastes of low-cost phones, Spotify has turned down fewer features to create a version of Spotify Lite to suit these lines better.
MUSIC RUNNERS HAVE DRAWBACKS
In the standard version of Spotify, we can still select and listen to some specific songs, and we can download the ones we like to listen to offline when we have paid a daily fee. But for the Spotify Lite version, it’s pretty much all removed; whether you’re a paid or non-paid user, you still can’t choose a specific song for you to listen to and download. We can only listen to a kind of song mix. This is a big minus in the Spotify Lite version.
In my opinion, it is enough to prioritise the removal of unnecessary features such as Car View or animation. Still, this depletion is really disappointing for those who experience this version of Spotify Lite.
